Our Mission Statement:

To improve student learning outcomes through strategic provision of technology that supports and enhances both curricular objectives and life long learning for students and teachers.

The NESD Technology Outcomes Initiative comprises of two areas:

• Student outcomes in Kindergarten through Grade 12 as outlined the the NESD Scope and Sequence
• Teacher Outcomes in establishing a baseline set of skills for every teacher.

Students in Kindergarten through Grade 12 will be encouraged to grapple with the complexities, as well as the advantages and disadvantages, of technologies in our lives and workplaces.  The NESD scope and sequence is not intended to stand alone, but rather to be infused within core courses and programs.

The baseline set of skills for teachers will involve the following areas:

• communicating through E Mail
• use of a standard office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• internet skillss
• collaborative tools (Learning Management and Content Managements Systems)
• other Skills (File Management, Use of Peripherals)
